Woman unlimited

Fashion,personal,8 March 2018

Today is the International Women’s Day. A day that has become more and more meaningful to me by each year. I am extremely thankful for being the woman I am in our society. Things are improving and I am proud of what I get to bring to the table. Nothing will ever change if we sit and wait for someone to change things. We have to do it together for ourselves and for our children. Most importantly, we should never underestimate our power to make change. Nothing changes over one night but if we start by changing old ways of thinking great things will happen. I’m sure of that.

I would never let being a woman stop me from anything, especially because I don’t want my children to get stuck in old role models and limited patterns. With my own example I want to show my children how and when to draw your own lines, how to overcome personal limitations and most of all how to support and help others. It can be the simplest things like being confrontational if someone talks disrespectfully, says an inappropriate joke or genuinely offer help to everyone asking for it. We are small alone, but strong together. Being an entrepreneur makes it that much easier for me to do things my way, therefore I feel responsible for my input. I set my own prices, bring my kids to work and do things how I want to. I don’t have to think about what everyone thinks of how I operate. Therefore, I do things how I want to and don’t the fact that I’m woman stand in my way, ever. I’m able to think outside the box and create new ways beneficial for me and other women.

Why do we need a specific day to celebrate women? We celebrate 8th of March to remember the pursuit towards women’s right to vote. We have come a long way since that and together we become powerful to push even further. 2017 was an extremely memorable year I feel proud of. The Metoo campaign was and is a great example of the power we can achieve together. Together we are so much stronger and we can achieve great things. That’s why I think it’s so important to focus on working together and pushing each other. We don’t even have to like everyone we work with or help, but by working together we can achieve big things that benefit all of us. My motto is to always, always help other women and support their work in every way I can. If I don’t, I know it will bite me in the butt later. Today I want to embrace every single wonderful woman I have in my life. My mother, sisters and friends. You inspire me more than you know.

I am responsible regarding pushing things forward for other women in my personal life as well as in my work. I collaborate with Finnish companies driven by women and try to help in any way I can. I am always eager to support my friends starting something new and always offer my help in that. Women that inspire me the most are women supporting other women, therefore I want to do that myself and although things are looking brighter already we can’t allow ourselves to get lazy. Equality between genders is still far from equal and we shouldn’t settle for anything less, should we?  Like I’ve said before I am stunned and extremely thankful for all the help, support and simply just cheering I’ve received myself.

As you know, Andiata is one of my favorite brands. I wear their clothes on a daily basis and love that it’s Finnish. It’s also a woman driven company which still is quite rare. Wherever I go, I feel proud to wear Andiata and it feels good to wear something with a clean conscious, knowing I support the women behind it. We can all show our support in the smallest everyday decisions. Andiata is a good example of a company working with women to get an understanding of what women want. The collections and designs are created for bubbly women in any life situation supporting whatever life we want to live. I wear Andiata suits for business meeting, leisure sets in cashmere when I’m at home with my kids, the softest leather jackets at school and feminine dresses on vacation. Andiata lets every woman be whatever we choose to be and doesn’t try to limit us to one role.

I’m not trying to overrun men or prove that women are better. All I strive for is equality. To meet every person despite their sex exactly the same. To feel like we all have the same opportunities and rights in life.

As a gift to you Andiata has kindly given me the great opportunity to let you take part in a draw where you can win your favorite piece from their new Spring collection! Take part by choosing your favorite piece HERE and comment either below this post or on my Instagram before March 13 which piece you have chosen.
