listen and you might learn something

Today is Monday and I’ve finally done with last weekends agenda. I worked on a school paper all day and then I went out for a long walk followed by a lovely dinner with my family. While I was walking I listened to one of my favorite podcasts where different people get a chance to talk and tell their stories.

I love podcasts and radio. Listening to other people talk is extremely interesting to me. Especially when I’m able to do it all by myself and not when I’m surrounded with people at some sort of social event. I’m not into small talk and I have to admit I’m not that good at it either. I’m just not the kind of person who like to talk if I don’t have something to say, or then I talk way too much just because I feel uncomfortable. Small talk and mingling just isn’t for me. I’d rather talk to someone I know, and I love to listen to people who talk about real and interesting subjects in the right space and time.

I have to say though that some peoples stories are just extremely inspiring and interesting! I also really admire great speakers. People with interesting voices and interesting stories. I usually fall in love with people who have some sort of story with them. It can be both good and bad but I can almost instantly tell if a person has depth or not. I learn so much from listening and I wish I’d been as absorbent when I was younger. I soak in so much information in a short period of time and the more I listen the more emphatic and understanding I become. It also reminds me to put things into perspective. Listening is my new thing I think. I’ve decided that now is the time to talk less and listen more.

The podcast I’m referring to is Värvet with Kristoffer Triumf. (It’s in Swedish).

fairies and dragons

I know it’s been a lot about ballet here lately, but once I got the hang of it I find it hard slow myself down. There is something so beautiful, personal and fragile about ballet, and I got so inspired by this gorgeous lace dress I purchased second hand from westartedthis. Ballet is the most beautiful form of art I know and the only sport I am really passionated about.

My intention was to write a long text about ballet and what it means to me, but when I started to think about it, I came to realize it’s a story I want to keep for myself. Instead I’ll let these beautiful pictures speak for themselves. I think these pictures are my absolute favorite pictures ever published in this blog. I hope you like them as much as I do.

“I believe in everything until it’s disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it’s in your mind. Who’s to say the dreams and nightmares aren’t as real as the here and now?”

-John Lennon
