I have a tendency to hoard on over- the- knee boots. Maybe because I have an obsession, but also because I constantly search for something more. Better fit, more comfort and updated styles. Since I have owned more pairs of over the knee boots than anyone should ever own, I thought I could use my expertise and experience to help you out if you are lost in the jungle of choices.

My first tip is to order online. Click into an online store with a wide selection and order a few styles at once. Try on at home and see how they fit. When you find the perfect pair just return all the boots that weren’t perfect and you have saved yourself lots of time (and calories :D).

It’s important to find a pair of boots that have the perfect width and hight of the shaft. Check if the boots you like have different sizes in the width and check the product measurements. Personally, I want mine to be super slim and the shaft to end just above the knee for the most flattering silhouette.Having slim and thigh hugging boots is good also because the shaft can be worn slouchy just under the knee as well.

Suede, leather or patent? Charlotte, Carrie or Samantha? Which one are you?

Black is black. Think about what kind of outfits you like to wear the most and keep the weather in mind. My taupe colored suede boots are like a dream, but unfortunately I don’t like to wear them with black stockings. Therefore, I tend to wear them only for a short period of time when the streets are still dry and I can rock them bare legged. Black boots are way more practical and as usual goes with everything.

There are many options also when it comes to the heel. The more chunky the heel is the more wearable it is. If you want to buy a pair for night time/ special occasions only, a thin and high heel looks amazing, but the chunkier it is the more comfortable the boots are to walk in.

My boots are Alberto Zago from Zalando, but they seem to be more or less sold out. However, this model is absolutely perfect. I can walk in these for days and they fit me like a glove.
