Good enough is admirable

The day before THE day. All of a sudden it’s here. Ready or not. I’m ready even though I haven’t purchased or fixed everything yet. Not to even mention the endless wrapping of gifts. I’m ready to just relax and enjoy all the Christmas magic with my children. They will be fine and so will I. No one will remember or even care if everything isn’t perfectly on point. Christmas is so much more than only one night. For me, it’s all about dreams, expectations and memories. Taking time for each other. Time seems to be the most difficult thing to arrange together. It’s so valuable, therefore I’m trying to keep that on top of my mind when feelings of stress creeps up on me.
Starting from today, I’ll make it my only job this holiday to remember what we work for so much. Now it’s time to enjoy what we’ve built for ourselves. I work to be able to live. Not the other way around. Now it’s time to live and enjoy this holiday with my family that I love so deeply. In the end that’s all that matters.
To all mothers (parents) out there: I wish you hugs and extra strength! Don’t reach for “perfection”. No one cares. Good enough is good enough. Compensate with being a more relaxed and present you. I’m sure that will create even better memories for everyone included.
