Pink lemonade

Beauty,17 July 2015

When it comes to makeup I usually stick to my basic products that I’ve come to love. I’m much more interested in skin care and trying new products within that area because I think healthy, glowy skin is the most beautiful base. Most days I wear mascara, concealer, blush, contouring, eyebrow gel and lip balm. Because I have freckles I prefer to let my skin be as natural as possible without trying to cover up too much, which is why I don’t use any foundations and powders.

One thing I love to shop for which in my opinion is the best way to fake a healthy looking glow is blush. So many tired, gloomy and grey days have been saved by sweeping on some pink dust over my cheeks. I usually wear Nars Orgasm but now I’ve found this new brand Sleek that I really like and I now have a palette for both blush and contouring.

During summer I prefer cream blush over powder blush so I usually choose the color in the middle of this palette. The one on the right is perfect when you have the perfect tan, and the one to the left for pale winter skin. I apply blush on the apple of my cheeks on the soft part before  the cheekbone.

I rarely wear highlighter but for an evening out I like to highlight my cheekbones by sweeping some glow on the highest part of my cheekbones.

Contouring is the best way to bring out the bone structure and form your face. I apply the darkest, matte powder in this palette just slightly under the cheekbones, following the natural shadows of my face.

Last but most importantly I finish of by blending, blending, blending. The more you blend the better and more natural the result will be.

Very interesting post Sofia. It is very sad to see how many women overdo it with foundations. Horrible borders at jaw line, unsuitable shades, mask effect etc. i don’t use foundation either and blush only on occasion actually. It’s a great motivating post for women and especially young women to accentuate their natural beauty and remain classy and fabulous like great Coco told us.
