one day at a time

Salty hair, sticky skin and kids with ice cream all over their cheeks. That’s how I would describe how summer feels. A bit uncomfortable, but familiar, free and extremely nostalgic. I love summer, especially when we take time off and focus on each other. Spending time at the cabin has become my favorite thing. Vacation is the best reward after this dark and cold year, but doesn’t come without fear and anxiety. I fear that it’s going to come to an end too soon. I fear that it won’t meet my expectations. I fear that it’s going to be cold and rainy and I fear that I will be stressing over all these things and distract myself from enjoying.
Fact is, nothing will be exactly as imagined. That’s just how it is and how it will be. I can’t do anything but take one day at a time.
