Finn inside out

I love my country. Even more so now, after spending many years of my life abroad. The more I see the more I learn to appreciate what we have. It has given me perspective in a way that has made also my short- sight vision a lot more clear.

When it comes to Finnish fashion, some may think it represents only what we Finns are in need of the most: color, pattern and extra everything. Yes, the winters are grey and dark and sometimes that mirrors in our mood and manners. However, when you get to know a Finn you most likely realize our hidden happy colors deep within.

Personally, I’m not too thrilled over wearing too much color and prints. After years of searching and trying I’ve come to realize that my comfort zone includes simple but beautiful and high quality clothes and I’m so happy to announce that one of my most worn and favorite designers is Finnish, Andiata.

Andiata is not only close to my heart because of my long belief and trust in the brand, family tie or the fact that I’ve been admiring Andiata on my mother and worn it myself ever since high school. It is a brand that always delivers and most of all serves me in every situation at every age. The pieces in my wardrobe that have been with me the longest are without a doubt Andiata.

This time I wanted to introduce my three favorite outfits from Andiata’s fall/winter 2017 collection. Might be stupid to say, but this black sheep fur detailed coat is my number one pick. My favorite part are the sleeves, but I also love love love that the coat is so light and a mix between soft and light wool and the fluffy  fur. It makes wearing a statement piece like this still look flattering on the body and not at all bulky.

This time of year I wear it with this little lace decorated silk camisole that itself is the perfect piece for wearing under a blazer, under a cashmere knit or paired with a skirt for a party.

All vanilla white looks have always been mouth watering to me. These pieces combined makes this look perfect for  any festive event, still looking casual and effortless. This is also a totally to-die -for office look. Cashemer knits in general are in my opinion the perfect way to match more festive pieces. Actually, I recently suggested for one of my friends who asked for my advice, to pair her amazing tulle skirt with a simple cashmere knit for an upcoming wedding she’s invited to. A soft round- necked knit or short sleeved even, brings the perfect contrast and makes the look perfectly chic. At least in my opinion.

These trousers are for you who likes the idea of white trousers, but like so many of us fear the reality of how it’s going to look. Let me tell you a secret, I’m wearing black undies in these pictures and there is not a single sign of that in sight. I was skeptical myself at first, but now I think I need to get these myself and wear them casually with a black leather jacket and white sneakers.

Beige. These pieces are actually from my own wardrobe. I’ve worn this set without the belt to school and added the belt and red lips for a lunch event and out for dinner. Generally, beige and red lips is always a good idea.

This mohair knit also looks good paired with the white trousers, leather pants, skirts and pretty much anything. Just put the silk camisole underneath and you’ll be comfy and warm all day.

This belt however, works on every single blazer, coat, dress and oversized mens shirt. My styling tip number one this season is to belt pretty much everything. Especially for all us Finnish women who I know are hiding curves of goddesses under our puffy jackets.
