When looking at these pictures the first thing that came to my mind was this: I often see bloggers/ models getting comments about posing too seriously or sticking strictly to specific manners. Apparently we don’t smile enough, and that is completely right. At least in my case.

Let me tell you one thing. It’s not so easy. Since I’ve been modeling for years I know how to smile, smize, look positive and everything in between. I just simply can’t stand looking at myself pretending. Not in my blog where I am myself. Where I’m not trying to sell someone else’s product with my face. I am happy, don’t get me wrong there, but who walks around laughing all the time? Having a neutral facial expression is well, more neutral I guess.

In these pictures I’m actually laughing my ass off. I felt so ridiculous standing in the middle of a flowerbed outside a sauna, having Dora roll her eyes at my lame poses. Coming up with poses is actually an ongoing struggle for me. First world problems I know, but I annoy the heck out of myself (and probably you as well) if I never come up with anything new. I guess it’s a problem us models who have worked for a long time have. We have learned what works and what doesn’t. We know our assets and our flaws and we know how to control our bodies and face perhaps a bit too well. It’s difficult to get spontaneous expressions. Those are usually the best. Those are the ones that bring out motions in the beholder.

I actually have an entire secret board on Pinterest where I pin inspirational pictures of poses only. Everything from angles, body positions, hands, expressions and my favorite, fingers. How the fingers are placed make a huge difference. That is one of my most important tips to new models. Read fashion magazines and practice in front of the mirror and control your fingers. They can make or break a picture. Who would have known.

The past few days have been so gorgeous I don’t mind one grey day like today in-between. When it’s nice out I feel like I need to enjoy every minute of it by being outdoors, which result in a messy home and a never ending to-do list. Today it’s time to get organized.

Last weekend at the cabin I visited a flea market and bought a bunch of stuff for the home. I am beyond excited! Can’t believe how much joy I find in changing things up and building us a nice home. Grown up alert deluxe! My own taste is becoming clearer and I love that it’s slowly starting to look exactly how I like it. Not too safe and a bit weird actually. I know I always say I’ll show you when it’s done, but that will probably never happen. Because it never will be :D.

Happy no weather day!
